Objectives

Metro Fire Investigator's Association is an organization of professionals involved in the fire investigation community.

The objectives of Association are:

1. To aid and assist all members in the performance of their duties for the public benefit of control, suppression and investigation of arson, as well as other related crimes

2. To provide for development and exchange of technical information relating to the crime of arson and related crimes

3. To cooperate with law enforcement agencies and associations to further investigation, prevention, and suppression of crime

4. To encourage adoption of legislation that will assist members in accomplishments of their duties, missions, and objectives

5. To encourage high professional standards of conduct among arson investigators and to continually strive to eliminate all factors which interfere with administration of crime suppression

We are an affiliate of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association, which is a chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators.

Our members include:

--Public and private fire investigators
--Insurance personnel and adjusters
--Attorneys
--Engineers and other scientific experts
--Other people involved in fire claims
MFIA hold one meeting each month, in which a speaker comes to present valuable information for our profession. We exchange knowledge and experience during our meetings.
